Capgemini has extended its partnership with both Mistral AI and SAP with an aim to deliver generative AI (GenAI)-powered solutions tailored for regulated industries. This collaboration focuses on transforming operations and improving business outcomes in sectors with stringent data requirements, such as financial services, public sector, aerospace and defence, and energy and utilities. The initiative capitalises on Mistral AI’s GenAI models and the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to develop a range of accessible business AI use cases while maintaining a reduced carbon footprint.
With enterprises increasingly adopting business AI for process optimisation and decision-making, integrating GenAI offers a pathway to enhanced business value, according to Capgemini. These technologies enable organisations to simulate scenarios, prepare crisis response plans, and swiftly adapt to market changes. Capgemini said that this capability provides a competitive advantage by facilitating personalised customer experiences and optimising supply chains. However, organisations operating in regulated industries or managing sensitive data often face challenges in accessing these benefits without advanced GenAI models situated in secure environments like the self-hosted SAP BTP.
“Enterprises are increasingly turning to GenAI to enhance their resilience, streamline operations and accelerate time to value,” said Capgemini chief strategy and development officer and group executive board member Fernando Alvarez. “As a trusted business and technology transformation partner to our clients, Capgemini is committed to helping them evolve their critical business processes through the secure and tailored application of AI. Together with Mistral AI and SAP, we can empower organisations to access a broad range of innovative and customised AI models, to drive significant business value and foster sustainable growth.”
Custom business AI solutions offered
Under this new collaboration, Capgemini expects to provide a library of over 50 pre-built custom business AI use cases. Leveraging Mistral AI models validated by SAP, these use cases are categorised by industry and driven by specific processes. The solutions incorporate responsible and ethical AI principles with embedded governance, ensuring alignment with regulations to safeguard data security while encouraging innovation.
Examples include the use of augmented field workers in aerospace and defence to efficiently address operational non-conformities, drone-based inspections for predictive maintenance in energy and utilities that generate actionable insights. Additionally, there are intelligent indirect purchasing systems that facilitate the quick selection of the most convenient products from multiple suppliers across industries.
This partnership’s objective is to offer dual benefits by accelerating the deployment of custom GenAI solutions within SAP for all organisations and providing secure environments for those needing regulatory or privacy compliance.
Last month, Capgemini also announced an agentic AI initiative with Google Cloud aimed at transforming customer experience (CX) into a core value driver for clients. This venture will see Capgemini developing industry-specific agentic AI solutions capable of handling customer requests across all communication channels—web, social media, phone—and enhancing employee productivity.
